Buen Provecho

Until relatively recently, Monterrey still hesitated to see itself as a truly modern city. Since the early 20th century, its industrial development has effectively positioned it as one of the country’s three most important cities. This industrial drive, along with the vision of a number of business leaders, has brought world-class museums, culture, restaurants, companies, and universities to the city.

Unfortunately, this modernity has not been matched by sustainable urban planning. The historic downtown, in particular, stands out for years of neglect and deterioration caused by poor planning and the absence of public policies that promote responsible development. Now, with a rushed wave of vertical growth, the city center appears to be rising with heights and socio-spatial dynamics that do not align with its history.

Belmonte was born with the intention of reversing the decline of downtown.

Our proposal is ambitious yet clear: to lead by example. It is possible to create high-quality businesses that are responsible toward both our heritage and our environment.

The destruction and deterioration of the city’s architectural heritage is our primary concern. We will bring our vision to life with strict respect for the buildings we can rescue from abandonment, helping preserve the city’s urban memory. We will never support irresponsible developments that are insensitive to history.

The world’s great cities concentrate the highest values of their societies in their centers. With Belmonte, we aim to contribute to a downtown that is a true source of pride for Monterrey.
